We work with students aged 5 to young adults.
The easiest way to get started is to fill out an intake form or call us to find out if services are right for you.
You don't need a formal diagnosis to register for services. We will screen for dyslexia at your consultation appointment.
We can screen for dyslexia and test for dyslexia however we recommend using a medical provider for formal diagnosis. There are several reasons for this. Please schedule a consultation or call for more information.
It depends on the student. We provide individualized 1:1 instruction and the pace is determined by the student's ability to master the concepts being taught. Our skilled instructors are experts at pacing lessons to ensure concepts are retained and generalized. Our ultimate goal is your child's success. We adjust our pacing to meet your child's needs. We used a leveled system, and if a child completes levels 1-8 they will be working at an upper 8th - 9th grade level. Levels 9 and 10 are reserved for students approaching or currently in high school.
Students meet with their instructor twice weekly during the school year and 2-3 times weekly during the summer months. Research shows that students need approximately 100 minutes of intervention weekly.
All lessons are 45-50 minutes in length.
Our instructors are skilled at knowing the needs of their students. We are able to break lessons into short manageable parts with quick brain breaks between activities. Students are also actively engaged during lessons. We use tactile and movement activities. Students are also welcome to sit, stand and move around as needed to help their focus.
We have three semesters each year. When you register for services you register for the current or upcoming semester and you reserve the same time/days for the entire semester.
We are state approved for CLTS (Medicaid Waiver) and approved for HSA/FSA funds. We also accept personal checks or credit cards for private pay.
Consistent attendance is very important! Our students rarely miss lessons. That said, sometimes things happen that are out of your control. If your child misses a lesson because of illness or emergency we offer a built-in make-up day at the end of each semester.
Tutors catch students up when they are a little behind or simply need extra help on homework. Anyone can be a tutor. Not everyone can provide dyslexia therapy services. Our instructors are all licensed teachers with specialized training using Orton Gillingham approaches. We also provide auditory discrimination in depth training and executive functioning skills workshops.
